The US is a very mixed class nation. Towards the South East, the household income is very low. However, far east of the US the household income is very high in states such as New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Boston.

Florida

In Florida, to be classed as middle class, households must make at least $26,023 a year and the upper earnings boundary is set at $117,719 a year.

44.8% of Florida's total household income is from the middle class. 51.9% is from people in the upper earnings boundary which only 20% of their population is in, and from this, 24.1% is from the top 5% earners in Florida. As a Nation the top 20% earn at least $131,350 per year and to be in the top 5% in Florida, you need to earn at least $226,319 per year. The median household income in Florida is $59,227, which means a lot of the household earners are middle class.

Cape Coral

Most of the population in Cape Coral has a good amount of earnings to contribute to their household income, with a large 90.3% of the population not being in poverty. The Average earnings in Cape Coral is  $36,716 a year, $40,879 a year on average being of a male and $33,363 a year on average of a female. Now, in terms of Household income, the most is from Married families, with an average of $79,305 and a mean of $97,451, but the least is from non families with an average of $40,403 and a mean of $49,654. However despite this, on Average the city of Cape Coral is mostly populated by middle class households.

Moving onto employment, In Cape Coral the Employment rate is 54.7%, and the Unemployment rate is 5.7%. Out of the the people who are employed, 9.82% are in Poverty and out of the people who are unemployed, 45.81% are in Poverty. But the overall Poverty rate in Cape Coral is 9.7% with most of them being female with a poverty rate of 10.77%.

The median household income in Cape Coral is $62,490. This means Cape Coral income is higher than the median income in the United States, with city household incomes in the 62th percentile. Education is usually most correlated with income, and in Cape Coral 23% of adults have bachelor’s degrees or higher versus 31% nationwide. 37% of cities might have higher incomes, and 61% of locations would have lower household income. Compared to nearby cities family and household incomes are lower. Median income ranges from a low of $19,475 to a high of $99,606 in some neighborhoods.

Higher income areas are typically found in the southwest parts of the city, and lower income areas are in the southeast areas.

To conclude, the people of Cape Coral are in a very stable state with mostly middle class people with a very low unemployment rate and a low poverty rate. But due to the recent event of a hurricane hitting Cape Coral on the 28th September 2022 these figures could drastically be effected with a lot of people having to pay towards the damages that the hurricane has caused which could result in people possibly losing their homes due to not being able to pay for their repairs etc.
